Do you feel tired, overwhelmed, exhausted and just spent?  I know that is a silly question because we all feel like this daily, weekly or monthly.  Life is complicated and in today’s society we are always running and going somewhere.  Sometimes we just don’t even take the time to breathe. It is time for all of us to stop! Stop and really look at ourselves and our own personal world.  I love this quote by Oprah Winfrey, “Breathe, Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.”  I mean isn’t this really one of the most poignant things you have heard?  Are you asking yourself why is this so important in the grand scheme of things?  I wish I could scream this from the mountaintops! The number one person in your world is yourself.  If you don’t take care of yourself well then ultimately everything else falls apart.

Self-Care is the biggest gift and coping skill that we can give ourselves.  I know, I know this is basic knowledge, but do you really practice Self-Care on a daily basis?  If you are honest with yourself the answer is probably no. I am going to go beyond Self-Care and ask do you give yourself Self Love?  These are a lot of questions that I am throwing out at you. It’s because I really want you to think about how you Love Yourself.  There is nothing more important an individual can do than taking care of themselves on a daily basis.  Yes, it must be a coping skill that you practice daily.

Self Love, it is not easy and I know that there is a lot of self deprivation that we all do to ourselves that keeps us from loving ourselves.  So what can you do to reach Self Love?  I want you to sit with yourself for awhile alone.  Close your eyes and really envision what makes you happy and feel good about yourself.  Take some time with yourself.  After you have spent some alone time make a list of what makes you feel good about yourself.  Positive affirmations send a message to ourselves that we are worth it and that we deserve to give ourselves Self Love.  The next task is to make a Self Care/Self Love list on how you can nurture yourself.l Some examples of Self Care are:  read daily affirmations, take a short nap, journal, watch a sunrise or sunset, declutter your space, buy yourself flowers, a facial, put on relaxed clothing or maybe have breakfast in bed. I could just go on and on with examples on Self Love and Self Care.

The ball is now in your court. Take action to put your needs first and you will begin to see how the rest of your life becomes more productive, less crazy, less complicated and you might just realize that Self Love is a necessity to make the rest of your daily responsibilities  functional.  We all want to be our best version of ourselves.  The reason why you visited Wide Open Spaces with Ilise was to improve your mental health and self-motivation.  So go and get to it, the new you is waiting for you to take action.

I would like to end with this quote by Bustle.com, “Loving Yourself is the Greatest Revolution.” This quote just leaves me breathless.  Go out and create you own personal revolution.
