This month is Suicide Awareness Month. There are many people who suffer with suicidal ideations.  Suicide has increased during the Pandemic. It is so important for all of us to be aware of the subtle and not so subtle signs of Suicidal Ideations.  I will name just a few signs and I hope you will go and research all of the signs on your own.  Some signs of suicidal ideations are:  increased depression, poor sleep patterns, withdrawal from others, change in appearance(unkempt), self harm and talking about suicide openly.  Please be aware of these signs and if you feel someone is in danger please reach out for help.  I don’t feel comfortable talking in depth on this topic because it is a very sensitive issue and really should be discussed one on one with a specialist.  It is my responsibility to make you aware and empowered to seek help.

Life is hard!  What does that really mean.  Humans carry a lot of weight on their shoulders.  Daily our lives are filled with stressors and anxiety.  Think about all of the stressors that you carry around.  I mean if you really visualize it you can envision yourself with a lot of weight on your shoulders.  Over time this weight can become unbearable.  Visualize yourself with the weight that you carry on your shoulders daily, if you don’t learn how to cope with these daily stressors the weight becomes so overwhelming you can’t cope.  I mean you literally break. So what is the true answer to carrying all of this stress on a daily basis.  I am not going to lie, it takes a lot of effort and work on your part.  Unfortunately, those of us who don’t deal with this on a daily basis will  inevitably see mental health issues surface and possibly suicidal thoughts.  This is why it is not easy and it takes a lot of work on your part to battle what is weighing you down.  The key is to identify a list of coping skills and to make a plan of how you are going to resolve the stressors or decrease the effect the stress has on you mentally and physically. In this weeks Podcast episode 54 I discuss how Life is Hard and some healthy and unique ways to help you cope with stressors.  I will talk about how each day is a new day and how you can fill your day with things that make you smile. This weeks podcast will also contain an active practice that I will take you through to help you identify and release your stress and anxiety.

Stress drains us and it takes a lot out of us.  I will discuss how you can gift yourself healthy and positive ideas to counterbalance your worries.  Transitions are hard, loss is hard, change is hard, responsibility is hard, work is hard and relationships are hard.  We can’t avoid stress and issues but what we can do is take control of our lives and empower ourselves.  Hopefully, focusing on yourself, your needs and how you can express all of this  will decrease depression, anxiety and possibly suicidal thoughts.  Please join me this week and let’s get that weight you carry on  your shoulders off of your back.  The power is in your hands.
