October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, This is personal for me!  I have so many women in my life who have been diagnosed, survived and lost their battle to breast cancer.  My sister in laws are both survivors and so is one of my closest and dearest friends.  I feel like this disease has become an epidemic.  I have felt this way for years.  I am constantly hearing about somebody else that I know that has to hear this diagnosis.  It is a cruel disease.  However, I try to always reframe my thoughts and I have done that with this disease.  When I feel weak or struggling with our current world crisis I think of the breast cancer warriors in my life and it gives me the strength to move on.  If they could survive surgery, chemotherapy, losing their hair and everything else that this diagnosis entails, I can survive our new world of Covid 19.

I have seen their surgery scars, their drains, tattooed nipples, wigs and beautiful bald heads.  There is such beauty in watching a warrior. They all had their weak moments but they always put the boxing gloves back on and fought this disease with everything they had.  Unfortunately, there are the fighters that do lose the battle.  May all of their memories be a blessing and may the Rest In Peace.

Podcast 24 is titled Fight Like A Girl, because each and everyone of these ladies in my life and I am sure yours, put the gloves on and gave this disease a strong punch back.  In this weeks podcast I read to you four survivors stories and the war that they fought against this disease.  If you want to know how one handles this diagnosis, pop your earbuds in and give it a listen.  My podcast went live yesterday.  The feedback has been amazing and all were moved and inspired by the ladies words.  There is something so inspirational when you hear it from someone who has lived it.

The past three years I have been on the committee for Not My Daughter find a cure now. This is a non profit organization that raises money for breast cancer research and the University Of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center Support Services Facility in Plantation, Fl. This facility helps provide wigs, support and prosthetics to women who need assistance. I had attended the annual event each year,  but I didn’t feel that was enough for me. I joined the committee and now I know I am making a difference in the fight against this disease.  This year due to Covid 19 we can’t have our annual event. Of course you know we would’t let that stop us!  This year we are having a telethon on October 26th.  It will be live on Facebook.  Please go to Not My Daughter Find a Cure Now on FB on the 26th and you can watch the telethon live. I will be there so you can see me in action.  There will also be live and prerecorded videos for you to enjoy on cooking, essential oils. learning about wine and many other fun topics.  If you would like to help out this wonderful organization, please go to  www.notmydaughter.org.

I would like to end this weeks blog with a positive message.  We are all struggling with this Pandemic. Take a listen to the women on my podcast and I guarantee that it will change your perspective. I want you to put the gloves on and when you are down
