September is Suicide Prevention Month.
These are the signs to look out for in yourself or others that you know are struggling.
1. Socially withdrawing from others, work, social situations and family events.
2. Constant mood swings or changes in mood behavior.
3. Talking about death or wanting to hurt self/themselves.
4. Giving away important or meaningful possessions.
5. Talking about having no reason to live.
6. Sleeping too much or getting little to no sleep.
7. Increasing the intake of drugs or alcohol.
8. Telling others that people would be better in their lives without them.
9. Looking unkempt or not taking care of their hygiene.
10. Talking about being in intolerable or unbearable pain.
There are many more signs that can point to someone having Suicidal Ideations, thoughts or plans. If you are concerned about yourself or others people do some research on your own. You can also reach out to the Suicide Prevention Line.
